아트 바젤 파리(Art Basel Paris) 2026이 폐막하였습니다.
국제갤러리의 파이널 세일즈 리포트와 함께 이현숙 회장님의 참여 소감을 전달 드립니다.
“올해 아트 바젤 파리가 정치적 상황으로 인해 조기 폐막하게 된 데 대해 안타까움과 유감을 표한다. 그럼에도 하종현의 1990년대 〈접합〉 연작부터 해외 주요 기관에서 활발히 활동하고 있는 양혜규의 신작, 한국계 캐나다 작가 로터스 강의 조각에 이르기까지, 시대와 매체를 아우르는 작품들이 고르게 거래가 이루어지며 시장의 관심을 확인할 수 있었다. 국제갤러리는 갤러리즈 섹터에 참가한 유일한 한국 갤러리로서 다양한 세대의 한국 및 디아스포라 작가들을 소개했고, 예기치 못한 상황 속에서도 작품을 향한 관심과 성과가 이어졌다는 점에서 의미가 있었으며, 내년에는 보다 안정적인 환경에서 아트 바젤 파리가 다시 열리기를 기대한다.”

“Despite the unforeseen circumstances and challenges currently ongoing in the city, our presentation at this year's Art Basel Paris achieved great sales across a range of works spanning generations and media—from Ha Chong-Hyun’s Conjunction series of the 1990s to new works by Haegue Yang, whose practice continues to gain recognition at major institutions worldwide, and sculptures by Korean-Canadian artist Lotus L. Kang—underscoring the broad interest of international collectors. As the sole Korean gallery participating in the Galleries sector, Kukje Gallery was especially proud to bring the diverse practices of Korean and diasporic artists to the international audience. It was encouraging to see interest in the works and meaningful exchanges continue despite the difficult circumstances. We look forward to welcoming the global art community back to Paris next year under more stable conditions.”
